Everything you thought you knew about planets might be wrong. In a decision that will rock the universe as we know it, the International Astronomical Union is set to rule on an official definition of the word "planet" in September.
Searches on "the planets" are up 6% over the last week, but exactly how many of these orbiting masses are out there? We've been brought up on the notion of nine planets, but recent discoveries of other icy objects floating through the solar system have cast doubt on Pluto's planetary status.
As amateur (and professional) astronomers debate the icy planet's fate, queries on "solar system planets" are zooming. But if Pluto meets the definition of a planet, we could see an explosion of newly recognized planets circle the Buzz as other icy chunks get the nod.
Some veteran space watchers are disturbed by the thought of losing Pluto as a planet. If we used buzz to decide which planet to cast aside, would forlorn Pluto get the boot? Here are the planets ranked by searches...
While Saturn and Mercury get a turbo boost from autos bearing their names, there's no denying Uranus's spot at the bottom of our list. If a tenth planet is recognized in September, it will come with a regal name from TV's recent past. We're sure buzz will blast off on Xena if it's officially welcomed into the planetary fold, so stay tuned to Search next month.

Evolution takes many thousands of years,
in some cases millions. Just look at all the
human species, whatever you wanna call them,
we evolved from. Before us there was Homo
erectus even more b4 that.
(the bible was written by humans. fallible humans. with little to no scientific knowledge about anything and should be disregarded in all scientific arguments.)

Science. Yes the ongoing practice of
science. Fact of the matter is science is
and ongoing matter of finding out. The fact
of the matter it is so called science does
not know anything and the more they think
they know, the more they find out that they
do not know. So lets just change the status
of our present understanding and rename it
and then in the name of all mighty science
we are good for another day. And so on and
so on. We do not even know how to use the
little science we have for the good of man
kind. Better to build a bomb and blow it up
than fix it, etc. etc.
And a bunch of idots look down on God and try to fix it by science????? Amazing, how we can say there is no God when we cannot even figure out what a planit is. Dawwww, this is science, leave God out of it. How do you think the planits etc got there in the first place. Noting ever just happens. Wake up.

Now seriously, what do the planets have to do with all this religious stuff? You people need to relax. Life's too short to nag everyone all the time...

I believe in God and that comes from the
word faith. Faith in God is the same in
faith that there is no God. You cannot
believe in God without faith that there is a
God just the same as someone who has faith
that there is no God. But for those who do
not believe in God how do you say that man
was evolved ? If it were for evolution would
we not all still evolve rather than create ?
If man came from a monkey would he not still
come from the monkey ?
And the universe, how does an unbeliever in a higher power say that the way the universe so uniformly works in such a perfect manner, does it all by itself ? I find it very hard to think that all the planets are just there because ! That's just plain stupid !
